LTATM’s MISSION
Let’s Talk About The Music was created on 2015. LTATM’s mission is to promote and support independent musicians and highlight the music they produce in their communities.
Sting; “If you play music with passion and love and honesty, then it will nourish your soul, heal your wounds and make your life worth living. Music is its own reward.”
Shels L. Pixi has been active in radio and the podcast industry for the past 30 years. It started at Peninsula High School radio station KGHP. Shels then advanced into her college radio station, performed as a club DJ, and worked at a few weddings and additional live events.
Shels’ passion for professional radio remains undiminished. She started her own podcast on December 23, 2015, which was produced as a high-quality and engaging talk show called “Let’s Talk About the Music” (LTATM). The name was inspired by a friend's Facebook photo album on January 1, 2015.
The original staff of Let’s Talk About the Music worked hard from 2015 - 2018 until the host’s mental health required a break. She had to place everyone’s favorite music podcast on hiatus while she took some time off to recover. During this time, she enrolled at Green River College to be guided by the legendary college radio station KGRG FM. Her goal was to learn as much as she could about making an uplifting impact in the music community.
In December 2019, Shels finally received a diagnosis of borderline personality disorder with extreme anxiety attacks. She started following TheWork.com, a program to help change her thoughts; and she joined Matthew McConaughey - The Art of Livin’. She is now an Advocate, helping spread the word of Mental Health Awareness.
Shels has been attending Green River College and working to build an online radio station. Covid derailed her attempted relaunch of Let’s Talk About The Music in 2020, giving her the time to refocus as a business major. She will be graduating with an AA in Radio and Business Management in December 2024.
Some of Shels’ recent achievements are listed below:
