Alexander James Adams
Bandcamp Online Concerts
Did you know that musicians can have personal online concerts through Bandcamp? I thought online streaming concerts were just a COVID thing, but Alexander James Adams still uses his Bandcamp community page to stay in touch with his fans and Patreon followers.
His online concert series episodes last no longer than approximately two hours: He sings for about an hour and a half and then spends the rest of the time talking to his enthusiastic fans. They frequently beg him to sing one more song or share one more story from his magical realms.
Alexander’s Story
For those who do not know Alexander, here is a little bit of history. Alexander James Adams is well known as a faerie tale minstrel and storyteller of myth and magic. He’s an American singer, musician, and songwriter in the Celtic and world music genres who uses mythical, fantasy, and traditional themes in performances, switching between instrumental fiddle and songs accompanied by guitar, bodhrán, and his amazing fiddle-playing.
He travels to ren faires or fairy realms to enlighten everyone with his fantasy tales of magic and life adventures. Every note he sings contains a hint of healing that can lower any blood pressure.
Alexander’s Concerts
He and his lovely LADY Sanci normally start their travels with the Oklahoma Renaissance Festival, staying for three weeks, but this year they aren’t going for personal reasons. Instead, he is going to host his online concert series through Bandcamp starting from 12 pm–2 pm PST.
Whether Alexander’s concerts are online or in person, he exudes love, humor, and joy. He keeps a loveable pit bull snuggling next to him while he is performing. His fans refer to the dog as a “barkup” singer; however, the dog was sleeping on the job for one of the performances I viewed.
Alexander creates a set list before he starts each of the shows, but sometimes he decides to change it up. He randomly surprises his fans with other songs he has written or he will perform past Heather Adams songs – which all his fans (including myself) just love to hear.
Who is Heather Alexander?
Alexander is a big supporter of the Trans Day of Visibility because he is trans. Previously known as Heather Alexander (born 1962), he was a singer, musician, and composer on several Valdemar albums. Heather's last performance was in 2006.
After a medical transition from female to male, the artist now known as Alexander James Adams continues his successful career. He sometimes refers to his deadname as a separate person for CD cataloging purposes, calling himself her “heir.”
Upcoming Projects
Alexander has several new adventures in the works: Imaginerial Arts & Entertainment, a new book (coming out soon), multiple tour dates, and many more online concerts through Bandcamp.
